Abstract- In these short observations I will discuss some basic ideas of Francisco Laporta about the notion of “law’s empire”. I think that it is possible to draw some consequences on fundamental thesis about legal thinking, especially about the distinction between law and morality. I would like to underline the centrality of the themes on which Laporta worked in the general background of legal issues
