ABSTRACT – In the new technology-dominated landscape, anomie is not based on the total absence of rules, as the literal meaning of the term would seem to suggest, but rather on the state of social and regulatory destructuring of the system. In particular, anomie, related to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the objectives pursued by predictive policing, translates into a domain full of tensions that includes the systematic erosion of democratic norms and the consequent production of a (false) second nature, composed of meta-norms. This leads to an alteration in regulatory responsiveness and the ability of individuals to internalize norms, generating emotional destructuring. Furthermore, the anomalies and contradictions produced by the entry into force of the AI Act contribute to accentuating the construction of the new anomic fabric. In particular, tensions relating to the security-freedom dichotomy play a key role.
