Abstract – The article offers a reading of the juridical phenomenon and of music through the eyes of the interpreter, with a view to identifying the elements most pertinent to contemporary hermeneutics. In this sense, the thought of Emilio Betti and Salvatore Pugliatti are of considerable importance. The first for the pathos of the objective of his hermeneutical theory; the second one for the irruption of subjectivist exegesis. Law, like music, art, poetry and literature in general, is part of human existence, the interpretation allows us to known the world of the “artist”, to investigate it, to explore it in depth, overcoming the artificiality of the thought or the excessive technicality of the language, giving the interpreter the possibility of being a protagonist, not a simple spectator of the story.
