ABSTRACT – This forum hosts a discussion focused on the meaning of justice
in the contemporary legal and philosophical debate. On the one hand,
grappling with the problems of an idea of global justice, Alessandra Sciurba
will firstly investigate the phenomenon of migration and its impact at a
supranational level. Secondary, María del Carmen Barranco Avilés will
question the relevance of the notion ‘vulnerability’ in terms of human
rights; thirdly, Andrea Porciello will propose a new ontological paradigm
able to support an “ecological legal transition” for an environmental justice.
On the other hand, within the context of the political discussion on justice,
Nicola Riva will rigorously outline the main principles of the liberal model,
while Orsetta Giolo will focus on its most recent neo-liberal drifts. Finally,
the interpretative proposal presented by Lorenzo Milazzo will cast some
shadows on the relationship, which has always been controversial, between
justice and political power.
